The symposium “Interior – inferior – in theory? Contemporary positions in interior design theory” will be held at Deutsches Architekturzentrum DAZ in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
Follow-Up Discussion, Exchange and Networking – “Interior Design - Theory and Discipline today” – will take place at Wissenschaftsforum, Gendarmenmarkt, in Berlin-Mitte.
Berlin offers a great variety of accommodation. The conference’s venues are both located centrally and participants should not have any difficulties finding a hotel close to either or both of them. Search engines and platforms like Booking.com or HRS will supply numerous options. However, as Berlin is popular all year and the conference takes place before the Pentecost weekend, we highly recommend to make bookings well in advance.
The conference is free. However, seating is limited. Please secure your seat and register for the symposium and/or the follow-up discussion.
The symposium “Interior – inferior – in theory? Contemporary positions in interior design theory” addresses the discipline’s current status, its theoretical disposition and the nexus between research teaching and profession in six academic papers plus a keynote by Graeme Brooker (RCA, London).
Under the title “Interior Design - Theory and Discipline today”, the conference’s second day is dedicated to the discussion of current topics and issues, which are related to the symposium’s concern with interior design theory and discipline building, and to foster new activities and cooperation.
